California – St John’s @ Hackney, 2015

The summer may have been drawing to a close but God Only Knows there was still time for some California Dreamin’. In September Some Voices took you on a whistle-stop tour of Baywatch to San Jose, and saw out the summer in musical style. From ‘60s flower power to ‘70s boogie and ‘80s hair rock to ‘90s hip-hop, we sang that last bit of sunshine into your California Soul.

Amid the beach balls and palm trees with cocktails in hand, the sounds of some of your favourite power ballads washed over Hackney.

From Snoop Dogg to The Beach Boys, No Doubt to Van Halen, all the tunes were given the Some Voices treatment audiences have come to know and love.

Some Voices

SOME VOICES started small in 2010, with seven chorus members meeting up to perform original arrangements of popular classics that range from Bowie to Bjork, from Stevie Wonder to Stevie Nicks, from Folk to Hip Hop, and everything in between - all with a Some Voices twist.

Eight years down the line, more than 800 singers are now part of the exciting ensemble that performs on some of the biggest stages in London. KOKO, The Southbank Centre, Oval Space, The Coronet, The Rivoli Ballroom and The Troxy have all seen the group attract audiences in their thousands
