We’re recruiting for Choir Leaders around London!

Some Voices is a young and dynamic company looking for energetic and confident people with a background in music to lead our non audition choirs. Our typical choir has around 40 -100 members with an average age of 24yrs-40yrs old. We do not use sheet music with our singers as we aim to be as inclusive as possible.

You will need:

  • An outgoing and personable character with an ability to inspire others
  • Previous vocal training
  • Note reading ability

Preferred but not essential:

  • Piano skills
  • A degree or diploma in the arts

Musically directed by both Laura Howe and Curtis Stansfield, Some Voices was set up to give people the opportunity to sing in a group that was different from usual classical or religious styles. This ‘choir without the boring bits’, takes Some Voicers, glitters them up and puts them on some of the biggest stages in London.  Sheet music is replaced with dance moves, choir robes with fashion frocks, church organs by keytars – this really is ‘the closest thing to being a rock star’ (The Guardian)

Performing with artists such as David Byrne, Young Fathers, Mika, Andreya Triana, and Strong Asian Mothers, Some Voices are rapidly becoming known as London’s coolest choir.

Ongoing. Please email hello@somevoices.co.uk to apply.

Some Voices

SOME VOICES started small in 2010, with seven chorus members meeting up to perform original arrangements of popular classics that range from Bowie to Bjork, from Stevie Wonder to Stevie Nicks, from Folk to Hip Hop, and everything in between - all with a Some Voices twist.

Eight years down the line, more than 800 singers are now part of the exciting ensemble that performs on some of the biggest stages in London. KOKO, The Southbank Centre, Oval Space, The Coronet, The Rivoli Ballroom and The Troxy have all seen the group attract audiences in their thousands
